Moulin à papier de Fleurac

The Fleurac paper mill at Nersac still uses the processes of the 18th century. Hemp, flax, cotton are crushed or braked and transformed into pulp. This is then laid out, sheet by sheet, on felt, pressed and hung up in the air of the dryers.

Moulin à papier du Verger, Puymoyen

It has been a paper mill since 1589, and is recorded in the list of Historic Monuments.
Jacques Bréjoux makes paper from flax and cotton. The paper is used in the restoration of old books and for printing artwork. The mill stands in the valley of the Eaux Claires, surrounded by high limestone cliffs.

Moulin Neuf d'Echoisy, Cellettes

This flour mill stands in a domain of 40 hectares. It is part of a group of buildings which recount rural life in the 18th and 19th centuries. Production of wheat and spelt flour. Bread oven and bread baking on site.

Moulins de Menet et de Chabrot, Montbron

Moulin de Menet : is a small roller mill which was built at the start of the 20th century.
Production of wheat and spelt flour.

Moulin de Chabrot : it dates from the middle of the 19th century.
Production of stoneground flour [wheat, spelt and buckwheat].
Bread oven on site.
Education workshops.

This is a mill museum. It brings together an impressive collection of machinery which recount the changes in the milling trade over the last one hundred years. Production of walnut oil and maize flour.

The mill stands on the river Charente, close to the castle at Verteuil.
Production of stoneground flour.

Moulin de la Pierre, Vilhonneur

Unique in France, the mill at Rochebertier cuts the stone using hydraulic energy.
The quarries of white stone are situated in the village of Vilhonneur.

One of the few windmills in the Charente. It enables the activities of the milling trade to be carried out as they were in the 19th century.

Moulin de la Chaume, St-Germain-de-Montbron

Standing on the Bandiat, this 17th century mill still has the original mechanism for producing oil and flour. Production of walnut oil using customers' fruit, hazelnuts [on sale on the site] and stoneground bread flour [wheat, spelt].
