Constructed on a hill, it overlooks the valley of the Tude and dominates the town. The Talleyrand-Périgord transformed the 12th century medieval fortress into a massive castle which was rebuilt and restored in the 14th and 18th centuries.
See : the main courtyard, the drawbridge which is still in operation, the machicolated tower, the main part [16th and 18th centuries] covered with high slate roofs.
