The monastery suffered the joys and hardship of the Hundred Years' War and the Wars of Religion. The church and the abbey buildings were rebuilt in the 17th and 18th centuries.
The church contains some remarkable 17th century furniture [stalls, lectern, rood screen, altar piece]. Monks still live in the abbey.
