There is freshwater bathing in the flowing waters of the Charente and the other. At Lavaud and Mas Chaban, in the heart of the Charente Limousine, two neighbouring lakes cover some 350 hectares. Rowing, canoeing, windsurfing, bathing and fishing are on the menu. Near Angoulême, the vast man-made lake at Saint-Yrieix is ideal for water sports (sailing, windsurfing, canoeing). The lake at Brossac, set in the countryside, offers a completely different place for bathing which is particularly suitable for very young children.
